Learning Crochet Stitches - notes p2

A space is described as the interval between stitches. Dont make a slip stitch into your first stitch. After your finished work, you need to tug thru a loop on hook one last time and cut the yarn and pull the end thru. Here are basic crochet stitches you will need to make yourself familiar with. Make a loop in thread and insert your hook in the loop, and pull towards you the central length of the yarn thru. Continue drawing the yarn thru each new loop that you form till you reach the specified length. Single crochet stitch. Youll need to insert the hook underneath 2 loops of a stitch then draw the yarn through the stitch, making 2 loops on hook, then thread over the hook and pull through towards your direction the 2 loops.

Half double crochet stitch or half dc. Create similar double crochet stitches till you form 3 loops on hook and thread over the pull the yarn thru all of 3 loops. Double crochet stitch dc. Thread over the hook, then insert the hook in the stitch and then pull the thread towards you thru, making 3 loops on hook, then you want to thread the hook over and pull thru two loops, and once again thread over and pull thru the leftover 2 loops.

Treble stitch or tr. You want to thread over the hook 2 times then insert the hook in the stitch and pull the thread thru the stitch, making 4 loops on hook then thread over, pull thru the two loops, and thread over, then pull thru 2 loops, then thread over, pull thru the leftover two loops. Slip stitch or sl st. Insert the hook thru the stitch, then catch the yarn, and with a single motion, pull both stitches thru and the 1 loop on hook. This stitch is employed often for joining.

Popcorn stitch or pc st. Make one chain stitch, 5 double crochet stitches then drop stitches from hook and insert the hook back in that one chain stitch and pull the loop thru the one on hook. Block and space stitch. You want to form 4 double crochet stitches over 4 stitches of the preceding row, making one block, then create two chain stitches skip two stitches, making one space stitch. The chestnut practice makes perfect is true in crochet. While this is can be straightforward spare time interest to work on, a noob can find learning the craft as well as the patterns extraordinarily complex. With a little practice, patience and grit one can simply make easy crochet patterns.
