Jason is an architect by profession. He recently bought his own one-level setup pad somewhere in New York near his place of work. He is undecided on what is the best interior design for his pad. Here is an idea of interior design which may befit his jovial and amiable personality.
Since the pad is a one-level setup, it is suggested that a platform be made where he can place his bedroom. The available space below the platform can be utilized as a storage area. Maintaining privacy in this kind of motif is quite difficult though, so having a foldable wood or wood with cloth divider is the key factor here. It functions both as a decorative accent as well as maintaining the privacy my bachelor friend is worried of.
Using a minimalist approach in the use of furniture is also a must when living in a limited space. Using a love seat and an armchair is enough with a small center table. Having extra futon beds inside the storage space under the elevated platform for guests who would happen to stay overnight is a wise idea.
As for the wall finishes, using earth colors like black, gray, white or wood color is ideal for a bachelor's pad. The kitchen can be made simple, bordering more on functionality over design/motif. Using multi-functional pieces is also suggested.
Installing dimmers, pin lights and track lighting can add a decorative touch to the place. Just make sure that there is enough ventilation to avoid a "claustrophobic" feel inside the pad. Adding plants on decorative vases and framed paintings on walls as accents can add color and diminish a plain look on the area.
It is best and wise to make your own abode a true reflection of your personality. Though you choose to use simple lines and design, it still shows off more than enough flair and creative statement in your home interior design.
